The Rotary Peace Fellowship funds a fully paid master’s degree or a short professional development certificate at one of Rotary’s Peace Centers worldwide, for candidates committed to peacebuilding and conflict resolution. Applicants from India and Nigeria are both eligible, since Rotary operates through local clubs and districts in both countries — there is no country-exclusion list beyond a candidate’s own home Peace Center.
Deadline and funding
Rotary Peace Fellowship applications have followed a consistent annual pattern: opening around February 1 and closing May 15 each year. The most recent cycle’s May 15, 2026 deadline has passed, so this round is closed. Based on that pattern, expect the next application window to open around February 2027, with a deadline near May 15, 2027. The fellowship covers tuition and fees, room and board, round-trip transportation, and all internship and field-study costs — candidates pay nothing out of pocket if selected.
Who is eligible?
- Master’s track: a bachelor’s degree plus at least three years of related work or volunteer experience, running 15–24 months with a 2–3 month field study
- Certificate track: at least five years of related work or volunteer experience, running an intensive three months including three weeks of field study
- Strong English proficiency (a second language is strongly recommended)
- A demonstrated commitment to international understanding and peace, plus leadership ability
- Fellows cannot study at a Peace Center in their own home country, except Thai nationals at Chulalongkorn University

- Choose your track (master’s or certificate) based on your experience level, and identify which of Rotary’s Peace Centers best matches your field of interest.
- Submit your application, transcripts, references and required essays through Rotary’s Peace Fellowships page before the May deadline.
