The Erasmus Trustfonds Scholarship is a one-year award for master’s students at Erasmus University Rotterdam (EUR) in the Netherlands. It is paid from the Erasmus Trustfonds, the university’s own fund. The award is worth up to €17,500 towards housing, living costs and the tuition fee. Each school at EUR runs its own version, and the nationality rules differ. Some schools accept only EEA students, while others accept students from Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, India and other non-EEA countries.
Status: Opening soon for 2027-2028. EUR says its 2027-2028 information will be published this autumn. Erasmus School of Economics has confirmed its round: it opens on 1 December 2026 and closes on 31 January 2027 at 23:59. Rotterdam School of Management opened on 1 October 2026, but only for EEA nationals. Other schools have not posted new dates yet. Last year, their deadlines fell between 15 March and 1 April 2026 (checked October 19, 2026).
What it covers
At Erasmus School of Economics, the 2027-2028 award is made up of:
- A tuition fee waiver. For non-EEA students the fee is €21,000, and the scholarship and the school cover it together.
- A living allowance of €1,200 a month, or €14,400 for the year.
- A one-time personal allowance of €249.
- An immigration fee waiver of €228, if it applies to you.
The school says these amounts will be updated in the third week of November 2026. The award lasts one year and is given only once.

- You cannot have studied a full master’s in the Netherlands before.
- For Erasmus MC, check the Erasmus MC Trustfonds page. For law, check the Erasmus School of Law scholarships page.
- Start your Dutch student visa process early. Economics asks scholarship applicants to submit it by May.
