A Nankai University scholarship can reduce or remove your tuition in Tianjin, China, and some schemes add housing and living support. International undergraduates can apply for the Chinese Government, Tianjin Government and Study at Nankai scholarships. The university’s School of International Education runs admission.

Status: Open, with a scholarship deadline of May 30, 2027 for the Tianjin Government and Study at Nankai scholarships. Degree applications run from October 20, 2026 to June 4, 2027 (checked November 4, 2026). Nigerian, Ghanaian, Kenyan and Indian applicants are not barred from these two scholarships, but all 46 undergraduate programmes are taught in Chinese. You need HSK Level 4 with at least 180 points. The 2026 Silk Road list did not include these four countries.

  • Do not budget on a full award. Self-funded fees may still apply, and you need proof of funds.
  • Check your passport is valid to at least September 1, 2028.
  • Have your medical examination done after November 2026.
  • Upload everything online. Paper and emailed documents are not reviewed.
  • Ask your nearest Chinese embassy about its Type A round now, because the window usually opens in November.
